Economic Impact Payment Outreach Resources

Help us to spread the word about economic impact payments.

On April 4, NAEA received a letter from IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig asking that we help the IRS spread the word about the coordination of economic impact statements. We need your help to reach many lower-income, non-filers, military, veterans, ethnic, and homeless communities who are not in the IRS system and who may not step up to provide information that would enable the IRS to generate payments on their behalf. Please think creatively to spread the word to your local network, starting with your clients, a board on which you sit, a volunteer program, or your church/place of worship.

IRS Offers Additional Resources

The IRS has provided additional economic impact tools to help spread the word about COVID-19 relief. The Get My Payment graphic displays the economic impact date and helps with direct deposit. The Non-Filer poster highlights a new tool aimed to help non-filers register for economic impact payments. Please share across your social media channels using the hashtag
#COVIDreliefIRS and link to www.irs.gov/getmypayment.

Please share and adapt these materials for your communications, including emails, newsletters, websites and other channels. We need your help in sharing these important outreach materials with your members and affiliates, clients, family and friends.

The IRS continues to create outreach materials to address people’s questions about coronavirus-related tax relief and Economic Impact Payments. The IRS is also working to deliver Economic Impact Payments as quickly as possible to all eligible Americans. More than 150 million payments will be sent out, and millions of people who normally don’t file a tax return are eligible to receive these payments.

To reach these people outside of the tax system, the IRS is asking for your help to spread the word, so more people sign up for these payments worth $1,200 per individual or more. The IRS has created special information and graphics that you can use, share and adapt in your communications, including material suitable for emails, newsletters, websites and other channels. We need your help in sharing these important outreach materials with your families, friends, partners and clients. This week’s outreach bundle includes materials on Economic Impact Payments and related scams, as well as collection and exam focused tax relief and employer credits.
