Below is a list of membership types. EA members of NAEA are also required to join their state affiliate society.


New EAs SEE Passer Membership

Fees & Eligibility:

  • $100 discount off first year of membership for individuals who have passed the Special Enrollment Exam (SEE) within the last 12 months
  • $10 NAEA Application Fee
  • $18 State Affiliate Intiation Fee for New Members

Required Documentations: Must submit copies of letters stating you passed each of the three parts or a copy of your EA certificate or a copy of your EA license.

Regular Membership (Open to EAs only)

Fees:

  • $265 annual fee plus state affiliate annual fee
  • $10 NAEA Application Fee

Fees:

Academic Associate Membership

Eligibility:

  • Students or instructors in an accredited college or professional school in a tax, accounting, or finance program qualify for a complimentary 2-year membership in NAEA. Documentation required.

  • Individuals enrolled in the NAEA Online Enrolled Agent SEE Preparation Course are eligible for this membership prior to passing the SEE. Documentation required.
  • Individuals who are defined by Circular 230 are not eligible for this membership type.

Emeritus Membership

Fees & Eligibility:

  • $66.25 Annual Fee

  • Emeritus status is for individuals who have fully retired from practice
  • You must have already indicated to the IRS on Renewal Form 8554 that you desire "Inactive Retirement Status"
