Non-traditional tax advocacy discusses ways to resolve tax controversies when normal channels are not working. The discussion will focus on when and who to file complaints with the Taxpayer Advocate, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, the Civil Rights Unit of the IRS, Constituent Services of your Elected Representatives and the media – traditional and social. At the end of the presentation, practitioners will understand how to complain and how to be heard.
