NAEA selects Surgent for EA Review course and online self-study.

Washington, DC and Devon, PA — The National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and Surgent Professional Education, a newly-named preferred partner of NAEA, are pleased to announce the Pathway to EA™ Program. The Pathway to EA™ Program will leverage NAEA’s market position as the home for enrolled agents and Surgent EA Review’s best-in-class courses to increase the number of enrolled agent candidates and improve their Special Enrollment Exam (SEE) pass rates.

Surgent EA Review’s award-winning adaptive learning software, A.S.A.P. Technology™, identifies each candidate’s level of comprehension of all exam content areas, and then guides them to study material that addresses their weaker areas, optimizing their time by focusing more on what they need to learn and far less time on what they already know. Further, Surgent’s unique ReadySCORE™ feature, which is calibrated to actual SEE scoring, quantifies each candidate’s exam readiness and lets them know when they reach a passing score, allowing candidates to sit for the exam with confidence and pass the first time.

As a benefit of the Pathway to EA™ Program, Surgent EA Review will provide NAEA members who aren’t enrolled agents with free access to Surgent EA Review for Part 1 – Individuals, and exclusive discounts on its full course —called Premier Pass— as well as access to ReadyPASS, an exam readiness diagnostic tool. All of Surgent’s course content aligns with SEE content outlines, and Surgent EA Review courses include over 1800 multiple choice questions, IRS publications built into the software, and come with a pass guarantee. Premier Pass also features video lectures and unlimited course access.

The Pathway to EA™ Program will also enable NAEA to leverage Surgent’s UniversityPASS product to grow enrolled agent awareness at the university-level. UnviersityPASS is an award-winning learning management software that provides content for various accounting and finance curricula while familiarizing students with the content and format of professional credentialing exams, including the SEE.

“NAEA is and should be the home for enrolled agents and for those who aspire to become enrolled agents,” said Executive Vice President Robert Kerr, EA. “Through this partnership, NAEA is providing cutting edge assistance, education, and support to those who are ready to demonstrate their tax expertise. NAEA is committed to protecting, promoting, and providing for enrolled agents. We provide a community of excellence for enrolled agents and those who aspire to become enrolled agents. We are the only organization with this mission.”

“Surgent is thrilled to be partnering with NAEA,” said Elizabeth Kolar, CPA, CGMA, Chief Knowledge Officer at Surgent. “Earning the enrolled agent credential is an incredibly beneficial career move for any tax preparer, and we’re confident that partnering with NAEA will open the doors for many professionals to pass the SEE.”

Tax professionals must continually improve their industry knowledge to provide expertise to their clients. In addition to helping more candidates become enrolled agents more quickly, this partnership will also help existing enrolled agents stay informed. It’s no secret that the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act transformed the landscape and requires tax professionals to constantly monitor regulatory updates—encouraging them to complete analyses in a timely manner—and determine how to advise taxpayers to mitigate risk. With this new partnership, tax professionals will have the opportunity to improve their skill sets with incisive, focused continuing education from Surgent CPE.
