In a joint letter March 24, AICPA and NAEA urge Treasury and IRS to act immediately to provide broader tax filing and payment relief for all taxpayers affected by the ongoing pandemic. AICPA/NAEA said the announcement ignores the challenges many small businesses and other taxpayers have suffered because of the pandemic. At a minimum, AICPA/NAEA are requesting that all Federal tax and information returns, and payments originally due April 15, 2021 are granted additional time to file and pay until May 17, 2021.
